STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2026-07-14 (Week 29) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 28 (July 6-12) * On day 189 (Jul 8), DSN conducted a Mission Network Maintenance from 06:30 UT through 14:30 UT. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.1 Gbits during this week. Week 29 (July 13-19) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, one at 720 kbps, and twelve at 480 kbps. Week 30 (July 20-26) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 480 kbps. * On Monday, July 20th, there will be a return-to-service engineering demonstration during the DSS-35 track. There will be no SSR playback or instrument commanding during this track. * The 187th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st, at 13:00 UT. * An ESA New Norcia track is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st, from 20:15 to 23:20 UT. * On Wednesday, July 22nd, there will be a PLASTIC real-time commanding window to increase the MCP voltage level. Week 31 (July 27-Aug 2) * Ahead has nine tracks during the week, one at 720 kbps and eight at 480 kbps. * There is a DSN mission network maintenance scheduled for Monday, July 27th from 15:00-23:00 UT. Week 32 (Aug 3-Aug 9) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, one at 720 kbps and nine at 480 kbps. * The 80th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5th, at 05:10 UT. Week 33 (Aug 10-16) * Ahead has eleven tracks during the week, two at 720 kbps and nine at 480 kbps. * There is a DSN mission network maintenance scheduled for Sunday, August 16th, from 22:00 UT to 06:00 UT on Monday the 17th. Week 34 (Aug 17-23) * Ahead has fourteen tracks during the week, two at 720 kbps and twelve at 480 kbps. * There is a PIT test scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd, from 02:55-04:55, during the DSS-53 track. There will be no SSR playback or instrument commanding during this test.
