STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2026-06-16 (Week 25) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 24 (June 8-14) * On day 160 (Jun 09), DSN conducted a Mission Network Maintenance from 00:00 through 04:00 UT. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 162 (Jun 11), the 186th momentum dump was executed successfully at 14:30 UT, which imparted an estimated delta V of 0.056 m/sec. This was the 105th momentum dump conducted without gyro use. After thruster operations completed, there was a 1.1 degree of roll angle error. Fine pointing stabilized 2.6 minutes after completion of the momentum dump. * On day 164 (Jun 13), during the DSS-53 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 06:18 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of twelve frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.0 Gbits during this week. Week 25 (June 15-21) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, two at 720 kbps, and twelve at 480 kbps. Week 26 (June 22-28) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, three at 720 kbps, and ten at 480 kbps. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24th, from 08:20 to 10:45 UT. Week 27 (June 29-July 5) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, one at 720 kbps, and nine at 480 kbps. * On Wednesday, July 1st, there will be an engineering demonstration for DSS-23 at Goldstone from 16:00 to 18:00 UT. There will be no SSR playback or instrument commanding during this track. * APL will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, for the Independence Day holiday. Week 28 (July 6-12) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, two at 720 kbps, and eleven at 480 kbps. * There is a DSN mission network maintenance scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th, from 06:30-14:30 UT. Week 29 (July 13-19) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, one at 720 kbps, and twelve at 480 kbps. Week 30 (July 20-26) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, at 720 kbps, and at 480 kbps. * On Monday, July 20th, there will be an RTS engineering demonstration during the DSS-23 track. There will be no SSR playback or instrument commanding during this track. * The 187th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st, at 13:00 UT. * An ESA New Norcia track is scheduled for Tuesday, July21st, from 20:15 to 23:20 UT.
