STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2026-02-10 (Week 7) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 6 (Feb 2-8) * On day 033 (Feb 2), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 04:31 and 04:36 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 3750 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M118824 for more information. * On day 035 (Feb 4), during the DSS-65 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 04:41 and 05:03 UT, due to a software problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 575 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. See DR# M118832 for more information. * On day 036 (Feb 5), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 05:45 and 08:45 UT, due to weather. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 13809 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. See DR# M118835 for more information. * On day 038 (Feb 7), during the DSS-65 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 05:01 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of ten frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 033 (Feb 2), the 78th SECCHI stepped calibration was executed at 07:35 UT for midpoint in the Ahead orbit. This was the 47th SECCHI stepped calibration roll conducted without gyro use. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.1 Gbits during this week. Week 7 (Feb 9-15) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 183rd momentum dump is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11th, at 17:45 UT. * The 25th Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Thursday, February 12th. Week 8 (Feb 16-22) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled for Tuesday, February 17th, from 16:00-00:00 February 18th. Week 9 (Feb 23 - Mar 1) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 26th Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Saturday, February 28th. Week 10 (Mar 2-8) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * An Artemis II launch window is scheduled from March 6-11. * Beginning Sunday, March 8th, SECCHI will be conducting special observations in conjunction with the Parker Solar Probe perihelion. * Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 8th.
