STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2024-04-02 (Week 14) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 13 (Mar 25-31) * On day 089 (Mar 29), before the DSS-56 support, the antenna was declared red due to a hardware problem. The DSS-56 tracks were transferred to ESA stations for days 089-092. See DR # M116870 for more information. * On day 089 (Mar 29), during the DSS-83 (ESA Cebreros) support, the beginning of track was delayed six minutes until 0421z, due to a late SLE Telemetry Bind between JPL and ESA. This anomaly resulted in the loss of six minutes of real-time telemetry, tracking, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #N113049 for more information. * On day 089 (Mar 29), during the DSS-84 (ESA Malargue) support, the beginning of track was delayed 21 minutes until 0906z, due to a SLE Telemetry Bind issue with ESA. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 21 minutes of real-time telemetry, tracking, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the track and recovered all the affected data. * On day 091 (Mar 31), during the DSS-84 (ESA Malargue) support, the VC6 SLE Telemetry Bind was disconnected between JPL and ESA from 0743z to 0813z, due to a network issue. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 30 minutes of SSR data. The MOPs team performed a post-track SLE offline telemetry playback and recovered all the affected data. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.5 Gbits during this week. Week 14 (Apr 1-7) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * On Monday, April 1, SECCHI began a high downlink campaign for the total solar eclipse, extending until April 15. Week 15 (April 8-14) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The SECCHI high downlink campaign for the solar eclipse continues until April 15. * The solar eclipse occurs on Monday, April 8. * The Solar Orbiter Remote Sensing Window 15 runs from April 12-15. Week 16 (Apr 15-21) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The SECCHI high downlink campaign for the solar eclipse ends Monday, April 15. * On Wednesday, April 17 an ESA Cebreros track is scheduled from 05:25 to 06:55 UT. * The 70th SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, starting at 10:55 UT. Week 17 (April 22-28) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 166th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, with ignition at 12:30 UT. * An ESA Cebreros track is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 from 03:40-05:40 UT. * An ESA Cebreros track is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24 from 04:45-06:45 UT. Week 18 (April 29-May 5) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 19 (May 6-12) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
