STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2026-03-17 (Week 12) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 11 (Mar 9-15) * On day 068 (Mar 9), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 06:51 and 07:33 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 15 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 069 (Mar 10), during the DSS-25 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently between 12:27 and 12:44 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of eleven frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 070 (Mar 11), during the DSS-56 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 07:41 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of two frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 071 (Mar 12), during the DSS-34 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 17:55 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 072 (Mar 13), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 07:04 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of five frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 073 (Mar 14), during the DSS-55 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 06:03 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 150 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. See DR #M118940 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 7.1 Gbit during this week. Week 12 (Mar 16-22) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN network maintenance event scheduled for Tuesday, March 17th, from 21:00-05:00 March 18th. Week 13 (Mar 23-29) * Ahead has fourteen passes during the week, all at 480 kbps and overall coverage is nominal. * There will be an ESA New Norcia pass on Monday, March 23rd, from 18:45-20:45 UT. * The 184th momentum dump is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th, at 14:00 UT. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th, from 07:45 to 08:50 UT. * The 27th Solar Orbiter remote sensing window begins Sunday, March 29th. Week 14 (Mar 30 - Apr 5) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, four at 720 kbps, and nine at 480 kbps. Overall coverage is nominal. * The Artemis II launch opportunity window opens on Wednesday, April 1st, and closes Friday, April 11th. * There will be a MOC firewall upgrade on Wednesday, April 1st, from 11:00-15:00 UT. Week 15 (Apr 6-12) * Ahead has thirteen passes during the week, all at 480 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * An ESA Cebreros track is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th, from 04:30 to 05:25. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th, from 07:05 to 09:10. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th, from 14:45 to 18:45. Week 16 (Apr 13-19) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, four at 720 kbps and seven at 480 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * There is a DSN mission network maintenance scheduled for Wednesday, April 15th, from 10:30-14:30 UT.
