STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2022-06-28 (Week 26) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 25 (Jun 20-26) * On day 172 (Jun 21), during the DSS-26 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0511z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 72 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers on the subsequent DSS-14 track and recovered all the affected data. See DR #G122849 for more information. * On day 174 (Jun 23), during the DSS-26 support for Ahead, the antenna was declared red, due to a bearing issue. This anomaly resulted in the loss of three hours of command, tracking and real-time data. The MOPs team was able to remove all associated SSR playback time-tags prior to the lost support, and all affected data was recovered on the subsequent DSS-55 support. See DR #G122854 for more information. * As of day 177 (Jun 26), all PLASTIC systems on Ahead are behaving well, except there is a moderate background count rate, which the team is continuing to monitor. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.4 Gbits during this week. Week 26 (Jun 27-Jul 3) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 27 (Jul 4-10) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * Monday, Jul 4, is Indepence Day, which is an APL holiday. Week 28 (Jul 11-17) * Ahead has nine tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 29 (Jul 18-24) * Ahead has nine tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. * The 148th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Tuesday, Jul 19, with ignition at 16:15 UT. Week 30 (Jul 25-31) * Ahead has ten tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 31 (Aug 1-7) * Ahead has nine tracks during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal.
