STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2021-02-02 (Week 5) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a high background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 04 (Jan 26-31) * On day 026 (Jan 26), during the DSS-34 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently from 0934z to 1049z, due to an RRT processor problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 2397 frames of SSR data. See DR #C115438 for more information. * On day 027 (Jan 27), during the DSS-56 support for Ahead, beginning of track (BOT) was delayed until 1807z, due to a microwave interlock problem. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 1.6 hours of real-time commanding, telemetry, ranging, and SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers on the subsequent DSS-74 support. All affected DSS-56 data was recovered, except for the loss of ~4.9 hours of SECCHI data for day 026-2205z thru 027-0259z. See DR # M 113196 for more information. * On day 029 (Jan 29), during the DSS-14 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0328z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 031 (Jan 31), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1809z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of nine frames of SSR data. * As of day 031 (Jan 31), all PLASTIC systems on Ahead are behaving well, except there is a high background count rate, which the team is continuing to monitor. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 5.8 Gbits during this week. Week 05 (Feb 1-7) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are seven passes at 720 kbps, and two at 480 kbps. * Solar Orbiter will be running a Remote Sensor Synoptics campaign Feb 1-19, days 32-50. Week 06 (Feb 8-14) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are eight passes at 720 kbps, and two at 480 kbps.
