STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2019-11-19 (Week 47) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Restoration of the IMPACT server at UCLA is awaiting completion of the hiring of a programmer. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 46 (Nov 11-17) * On day 320 (Nov 16), DSS-55 conducted a Return-to-Service Demonstration track with Ahead. JPL Navigation reported not receiving uplink tracking data (UCP/USRP) for the entire demo track. The uplink OE is investigating the problem. See DR #M111874 more information. * On day 321 (Nov 17), during the DSS-14 support for Ahead, the station was not able to support downlink activities and provide telemetry due to a failed HEMT X-Band low noise amplifier. On the subsequent DSS-63 support, MOPs repositioned SSR pointers and recovered 75% (19.5 hours) of the affected DSS-14 data. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 6.5 hours of SSR data. See DR #G120642 more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 5.5 Gbits during this week. Week 47 (Nov 18-24) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are nine passes at 720 kbps, one at 480 kbps, and one at 160 kbps. * The annual STEREO assessment review has now been moved to Thursday, Nov 21, one week before Thanksgiving, from 8:30 AM to 12 noon EST. Week 48 (Nov 25-Dec 1) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are eight passes at 720 kbps, and one at 160 kbps. * Thursday, Nov 28, is Thanksgiving. APL will be closed Nov 28-29. Week 49 (Dec 2-8) * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are ten passes at 720 kbps, and one at 480 kbps. Week 50 (Dec 9-15) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. An ESA New Norcia pass was added on Thursday, Dec 12. There are nine passes at 720 kbps, two at 360 kbps, and one at 240 kbps. * The 124th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec 10, with ignition at 18:40 UT. Week 51 (Dec 16-22) * Ahead has fifteen passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are twelve passes at 720 kbps, two at 360 kbps, and one at 160 kbps.
