STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2019-02-12 (Week 7) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 6 (Feb 4-10) * On day 036 (Feb 5), during the DSS-34 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently at 0425z through 0426z followed by loss of telemetry lock from 0427z through 0505z then intermittent loss of turbo decoder lock from 0506z through 0537z all due to heavy rain at the Canberra complex. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 38 minutes of commanding and tracking data and 101,631 frames of real-time and SSR data, or the equivalent of about 45 minutes of data at 360 kbps. See DR# C113955 for more information. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.1 Gbits during this week. Week 7 (Feb 11-17) * The 46th SECCHI stepped calibration roll was carried out yesterday, Monday, Feb 11, with ignition at 10:15 UT. This wass the midpoint roll. * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 8 (Feb 18-24) * Feb 18th is Presidents Day, a federal holiday but a regular business day for APL. * Ahead has ten passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are seven passes at 720 kbps, and three at 360 kbps. Week 9 (Feb 25-Mar 3) * Ahead has nine passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 10 (Mar 4-10) * Monday March 4th, day 063, at 19:30 UT, the 117th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled. This is the 36th momentum dump without using the gyros. * Sunday, March 10, Daylight Saving Time begins in the U.S. * Ahead has eleven passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. There are nine passes at 720 kbps, one at 360 kbps, and one at 240 kbps. Week 11 (Mar 11-17) * Ahead has ten passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Week 12 (Mar 18-24) * Ahead has twelve passes during the week, all at 720 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. Other * There was some discussion about the possibility that MAVEN may need some help from STEREO for DSN time in week 9. The MAVEN and STEREO schedulers have been in contact with each other, but no specific request has been made yet.
