STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2014-01-28 (Week 05) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * NASA and ESA have agreed that ESA will provide STEREO 150 hours of telemetry through the end of February. This will fill telemetry shortages in weeks 6 and 9. * We may be able to collect small amounts of science data during solar conjunction periods. There will be a request coming out outlining the constraints that will be in place during the solar conjunctions and asking the science teams what kind of science might be done under those constraints. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 4 (Jan 20-26) * On day 020, during the DSS-26 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 2242z and again at 0041z. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 026, during the DSS-55 support for Ahead, initial telemetry lock was established 10 minutes late at 0815z due to an antenna pointing problem. No science data loss resulted from this outage. See DR M107711 for more information. Later, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0847z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 139 frames of SSR data. * On day 026, the SSR science partitions on Behind filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 1059z for 8.3 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 2.5 gigabits for Ahead, and 2.4 gigabits for Behind. Week 5 (Jan 27-Feb 2) * On Tuesday, Jan 28, a DSN project interface test of the new downlink telemetry processor configuration version 11.3 is occurring on Ahead. It is concurrent with the D25 pass. Two receivers are on line, the primary receiver with the new configuration and the backup with the current configuration. It seems to be going well. * The MOC will be off line for maintenance tomorrow, Wednesday Jan 29 from 21:00-24:00 UT. This is in between tracks.
