STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2014-01-21 (Week 04) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 03 (Jan 13-19) * On day 014 (Jan 14), during the DSS-25 support on Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 2225z through 2235z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of four frames of SSR data. See DR #G114562 more information. * On day 016 (Jan 16), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 0619z for 3.1 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 016 (Jan 16), the 64th momentum dump for Ahead was executed successfully at 1330Z, which imparted a delta V of 0.088 m/sec. * On day 016 (Jan 16), the SSR science partitions on Behind filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 0054z for 4.0 hours. SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 2245z for 1.25 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 017 (Jan 17), the SSR science partitions on Behind filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) remained 100% full at 0000z for 18.0 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 018 (Jan 18), during the DSS-65 support on Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1137z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 018, during the DSS-25 support on Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1931z through 1932z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 302 frames of SSR data. See DR #N109345 more information. * On day 018 (Jan 18), the SSR science partitions on Behind filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 0925z for 2.0 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 019 (Jan 19), during the DSS-25 support on Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 2122z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * The average daily SSR playback volume this week was 3.1 Gbits for Ahead and was 2.5 Gbits for Behind. Week 4 (Jan 20-26) * The 59th momentum dump on Behind was executed successfully on Monday, Jan 20, with ignition at 23:00 UT, imparting a delta V of 0.0695 m/s. * Ahead has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is short 16 hours, spread throughout the week. No 70 meter supports are scheduled. Two passes will be carried out at 160 kbps, both on Saturday, Jan 25 (D16 and D45). * Behind has 10 passes during the week. Overall coverage is short 10.5 hours, with the shortfall Wednesday-Friday. No 70 meter passes are scheduled. The following passes will be carried out at 160 kbps: Thursday, Jan 23 (D26), Friday, Jan 24 (D26), Saturday, Jan 25 (D55), and Sunday, Jan 26 (D26). Week 5 (Jan 27-Feb 2) * On Tuesday, Jan 28, a DSN project interface test of the new downlink telemetry processor configuration version 11.3 is scheduled on Ahead. It will be concurrent with the D25 pass. Two receivers will be on line, the primary receiver with the new configuration and the backup with the current configuration. * Ahead has 8 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. 70 meter passes are scheduled for Monday, Jan 27, Wednesday, Jan 29, Friday, Jan 31, and Saturday, Feb 1, all using station 63. * Behind has 9 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. 70 meter passes are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 28, and Wednesday, Jan 29, both using station 63 at 720 kbps. The following passes will be carried out at 160 kbps, both using station 26: Thursday, Jan 30, and Saturday, Feb 1. Week 6 (Feb 3-9) * APL has scheduled a brief connectivity outage on Thursday, Feb. 6, for IT maintenance. It will start 02:30 UT (9:30 EST) and last about 15 min. Anyone outside connecting in will need to reconnect. * Ahead has 8 passes during the week, and overall coverage is nominal. 70 meter passes are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 5 (D43), Friday, Feb 7 (D63), and Sunday, Feb 9 (D63). The following passes will be carried out at 160 kbps: Monday, Feb 3 (D34), and Tuesday, Feb 4 (D26). * Behind has 11 passes during the week, and overall coverage is short 8 hours, mainly between Monday-Thursday. 70 meter passes are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 5 (D63, D14), Thursday, Feb 6 (D63), and Saturday, Feb 8 (D63). Other * There was discussion of why only SWAVES had data gap problem this week. On weeks in which STEREO is short telemetry other instruments are reducing their data rates below the planned rate to avoid data gaps. * The A-set thruster fired early on Jan 6 during the recovery from the Behind IMU failure. A report will be sent out on that soon.
