INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 27 (Jul 1-7) * On day 183 (Jul 2), during the DSS-25 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1306z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 184 (Jul 3), during the DSS-65 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 0445z and again at 0557z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of two frames of SSR data. * On day 185 (Jul 4), during the DSS-15 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1844z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 186 (Jul 5), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, the receiver and ranging processor unexpectedly went out of lock between 1107z-1110z. Also during this track, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1119z through 1423z. These anomalies resulted in the loss of 15682 frames of SSR data. See DRs #M107411 and #M107412 respectively for more information. * On day 188 (Jul 7), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, the receiver and ranging processor unexpectedly went out of lock between 0652z-0654z. Also during this track, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 0609z through 0837z. These anomalies resulted in the loss of 6692 frames of SSR data. See DR #M107416 for more information. * On day 182 (Jul 1), the 58th momentum dump on Ahead was executed successfully at 1600Z, which imparted a delta V of 0.081 m/sec. * On day 185 (Jul 4), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: PLASTIC (Part 17) reached 95% full at 1301z for 1.6 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 186, the SECCHI instrument reset at 08:03:42z. The SECCHI team reconfigured the instrument to operational mode at 1255z. This was the 30th reset of SECCHI on the Ahead spacecraft. * On day 186 (Jul 5), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: PLASTIC (Part 17) reached 95% full at 1022z for 0.9 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 183 (Jul 2), DSS-15 was declared red shortly before BOT for Behind due to a cooling issue. DSS-14 was brought online and telemetry was received two minutes late at 0002z. SSR pointers were repositioned and all data was recovered. Also, due to the late antenna switch, DSS-14 did not perform a ranging pre-calibration, but a calibration was performed after the track. See DRs #G114043 and #G114044 respectively for more information. * On day 183 (Jul 2), during the DSS-65 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1911z through 1912z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 19 frames of SSR data. * On day 184 (Jul 3), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, the receiver and ranging processor unexpectedly went out of lock between 1730z-1739z. Also during this track, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1809z through 1832z. These anomalies resulted in the loss of 37484 frames of SSR data. See DR #M107406 for more information. * On day 185 (Jul 4), during the DSS-54 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1504z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. * On day 188 (Jul 7), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently beginning at 1159z through 1608z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 118 frames of SSR data. See DR #M107419 for more information. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 3.3 gigabits for Ahead, and 4.3 gigabits for Behind.
