STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2013-02-26 (Week 9) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * On Tuesday, March 12th, at 3 PM and possibly through 10 AM on Wednesday, March 13th, connectivity to the STEREO MOC will be unavailable due to a RAID replacement upgrade on the instrument team external MOC workstation, cho. This time frame is outside of schedule tracks, so receipt of real-time telemetry will not be impacted. Instrument teams will not be able to send commands to the MOC during this maintenance period. After the maintenance has been completed, a notification will be sent to advise instrument teams that they can reconnect to the STEREO MOC. * A new web page has been put together describing the anticipated observations of Comet ISON towards the end of the year at http://stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov/comet_ison/ The possibility of spacecraft rolls to observe the comet using the HI telescopes on Behind as it approaches the Sun in the October-November timeframe, or on either spacecraft from December onwards is still under discussion. Perihelion will be on Thanksgiving day, and a British film company is planning to do a live broadcast of the SDO, STEREO, and SOHO observations of the comet during perihelion passage. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 08 (Feb 18-24) * On day 049 (Feb 18), during the DSS-26 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 2027z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. See DR #N108634 for more information. * On day 050 (Feb 19), during the DSS-63 support for Ahead, no commanding or ranging for the entire track due to a transmitter power supply problem. See DR# M107112 for more information. * On day 055 (Feb 24), during the DSS-55 support for Ahead, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1046z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of ten frames of SSR data. See DR #N108639 for more information. * On day 049 (Feb 18), the 54th momentum dump on Ahead was executed successfully at 1900Z, which imparted a delta V of 0.095 m/sec. * On day 053 (Feb 22), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 0652z for 8.1 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 054 (Feb 23), the SSR science partitions on Ahead filled as follows: SWAVES (Part 13) reached 100% full at 1416z for 4.1 hours. The primary cause was the accumulated shortage of track time throughout the week. * On day 053 (Feb 22), during the DSS-63 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1052z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 76 frames of SSR data. See DR #N108635 for more information. * On day 054 (Feb 23), during the DSS-55 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1629z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of one frame of SSR data. See DR #N108637 for more information. * On day 055 (Feb 24), during the DSS-14 support for Behind, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 1840z. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 166 frames of SSR data. See DR #N108638 for more information. * On day 050 (Feb 19), the 49th momentum dump on Behind was executed successfully at 1701Z, which imparted a delta V of 0.049 m/sec. * The average daily SSR playback volume during the week was 4.1 gigabits for Ahead, and 4.0 gigabits for Behind.
