STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2010-09-14 (Week 37) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 36 * On day 250 the 26th momentum dump on Behind was successfully executed at 2230 UT, which imparted a delta V of 0.0621 m/sec. * On day 251, during the station 24 support, an RNS2 disk failed at the Goldstone complex at 02:11 UT. The redundant RNS1 server was placed on-line at 02:17 UT. This resulted in the loss of several minutes of instrument SSR data for Behind. * A Project Interface Test (PIT) was conducted on Ahead on Day 521 to test the DSN TT&C software version 10.1 with the existing RNS during the station 25 support. A high SNT (50 deg K) was noted, but did not interfere with the downlink signal reception. Another PIT was conducted on Day 532 to test the DSN TT&C software version 10.1 on Ahead with the new DCD system during the station 15 support. At the MOC, real-time telemetry frames dropped every five seconds once the SSR playback started. Also, IDR files from the DCD were not received from JPL. * On day 253 real-time telemetry data reception at the MOC was lost for 38 minutes beginning at 4:22 UT for both Ahead and Behind. All SSR data was recovered. * On day 253, during the station 45 support, turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently over a two minute span beginning at 02:22 UT. This resulted in the loss of 148 frames of instrument SSR data on Behind. * Average daily SSR playback volume for Ahead was 5.6 Gbits and for Behind was 5.2 Gbits. Week 37 * Ahead has 720 kbps passes using station 63 on Monday, day 256 (Sep 13), Wednesday, day 258 (Sep 15), and Saturday, day 261 (Sep 18). * Behind has a 720 kbps pass on day 256 (Sep 13) using station 63. No spacecraft telemetry will be downlinked during this pass. * Overall coverage for the week is 1 hour over nominal for Ahead, and 4.8 hours over nominal for Behind. Week 38 * There will be a return-to-service track for station 65 on Ahead on Wed. Sep 22. This will overlap with the Madrid pass on station 55. The MOC will be able to see the telemetry during the pass, but will otherwise will not use the pass. * Ahead will have 720 kbps passes using station 63 on Tuesday, day 264 (Sep 21), Thursday, day 266 (Sep 23), and two on Friday, day 267 (Sep 24). There will be another 720 kbps on day 267 (Sep 24) using station 43. Overall, there are 14 tracks for Ahead during the week. * Behind will have a 720 kbps pass on Wednesday, day 265 (Sep 22) using station 63 in Madrid. * On Wednesday station 55 will be using STEREO Ahead downlink for a proficiency test. This time overlaps with regular station passes and will not be used by STEREO. * Overall coverage is 3.75 hours over nominal for Ahead, and 2 hours over nominal for Behind. Week 39 * Sep 30 marks the end of the first extended mission. * Ahead has 720 kbps tracks on Monday, Sep 27, Wednesday (Sep 29), Friday, (Oct 1), and Saturday, (Oct 2), all using station 63 in Madrid. Overall, there are 14 tracks for Ahead during the week. * There are no 720 kbps tracks for Behind during the week. * Overall coverage is 4.55 hours over nominal for Ahead, and 4.2 hours over nominal for Behind. Week 40 * There will be a return-to-service track for station 14 on Ahead on Oct. 8. This will overlap with a station 25 track. The MOC will be able to see the telemetry during the pass, but will otherwise will not use the pass. * Ahead has 720 kbps tracks on Tuesday 278 and Thursday 280. Overall, there are 14 tracks for Ahead during the week. * There are no 720 kbps tracks for Behind during the week. Overall, there are 12 tracks for Behind during the week. * Overall coverage is 6.2 hours over nominal for Ahead, and 3.2 hours over nominal for Behind. Week 41 * Week 41 APL will reconfigure the restricted IONet, moving it to a new MOC in preparation for RBSP. Times blocked out for this activity are 12:00-21:00 UT Monday-Thursday, but it may not take that long. This may lead to problems during Ahead tracks on Oct. 11, 13, and 14. Soft command loss timers will be disabled on both spacecraft for several days. The MOC is looking into if it is possible to send up prerecorded commands stored at the DSN. * There will be a SECCHI aphelion stepped calibration on Behind 03:15 UT Oct 12 * On Oct. 15 there will be a momentum dump on Ahead * Aphelion for Behind is Oct 16. * If the IONet reconfiguration does not interfere there will be a 70 meter pass for Ahead on Tuesday and 13 tracks for Ahead overall. * There will be no 720 kbps tracks for Behind this week and 10 tracks overall. * Days 288-289 (Oct 15-16) there will be a 32 hour gap in coverage for Behind but we should be able to ride over it. * Overall coverage is 6.0 hours over nominal for Ahead, and 1.3 hours over nominal for Behind. Week 42 * There will be a 720 kbps track for Ahead on Friday. There will be 12 tracks overall. * There will be no 720 kbps tracks for Behind this week and 14 tracks overall. * Overall coverage is 3.75 hours over nominal for Ahead, and 2.75 hours over nominal for Behind. Week 43 * There will be a 720 kbps track for Ahead on Wednesday. There will be 14 tracks overall. * There will be 720 kbps tracks for Behind on Monday and Tuesday. There will be 12 tracks for Behind overall. * There will be a momentum dump for Behind on Thursday Oct. 28, starting at 17:30 UT. * Overall coverage is 2.5 hours over nominal for Ahead, and 1.6 hours over nominal for Behind.
