STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2010-06-22 (Week 25) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 24 * The average daily SSR downlink was 5.1 gigabits for Ahead, and 3.9 gigabits for Behind. * The SSR partitions for the in situ instruments on Behind had periods of overwritting for each day between days 165-171 (Jun 14-20). This is due to insufficient track coverage. The cumulative coverage for Behind was 16 hours short for the last two weeks. * The wheel speed avoidance rule on Behind in G&C RAM only during the station 65 pass on day 167 (Jun 16). This was done to reduce jitter. Week 25 * There are a number of short tracks spread out through the week. These tracks will be devoted to science playback only. * The overall coverage for Ahead is 2 hours over nominal, and the coverage for Behind is 2.6 hours over nominal. * The Behind track on Friday, Jun 25, will be on 70 meter station 43. This track will be carried out at 720 kbps. Week 26 * On Jul 1, the 12th HGA calibration will be carried out on Behind starting at 21:00 UT, during a 10 hour track. * Behind will have a 720 kbps pass on Jul 3 using the 70 meter station 43 at Canberra. The track duration is 7 hours. * The overall coverage for Ahead is 8.5 hours over nominal. The coverage for Behind is 1.4 hours less than nominal, but this should be made up for by the 720 kbps track. Week 27 * There are many shorter tracks on Ahead during the week, but the overall coverage is 8.3 hours above nominal. Behind is 1.4 hours below nominal, but with no major gaps. Week 28 * There will be a 70 meter track for Ahead on Wednesday, day 195 (Jul 14), on station 63 in Madrid. This track will be carried out at 720 kbps. * An HGA calibration will be carried out on Ahead on day 196 (Jul 15), starting at 15:00 UT. This track is not 10 hours long, but this will be made up for by another track a couple of hours later. * Ahead coverage is 1.4 hours above nominal during the week. Behind coverage is 4 hours below nominal. The in situ instruments may lose data later in the week. Week 29 * The 31st momentum dump will be carried out on Ahead on Monday, Jul 19, starting at 14:00 UT. * The 25th momentum dump on Behind will be carried out on Thursday, Jul 22, starting at 17:00 UT. * Ahead coverage is 4 hours above nominal during the week, and Behind coverage is 8 hours above nominal. Week 30 * Ahead coverage is 4.5 hours above nominal during the week. Behind coverage is 4.8 hours below nominal. Other * IMPACT had a checksum error on Behind on Jun 17, in a part of memory associated with PLASTIC HV adjustments. This section of memory will be repaired. Time is available for realtime commanding tomorrow (Jun 22) or Thursday afternoons. * SECCHI will be performing high cadence observations in support of SUMER limb observations for JOP 227 on Jun 23 and 27. * SECCHI has been taking high cadence 304 observations for a few hours per day in support of the Swedish Solar Telescope at La Palma. These observations were made for a period of 5 days, ending today (Jun 22). * There is a total solar eclipse on Jul 11 in the south Pacific.
