STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2010-03-30 (Week 13) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * No minutes are available for the week 12 telecon due to the SWG meeting in Dublin. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 12 * BOT was 1 minute late for the Ahead track on station 15 on day 81 (Mar 22) due to an earlier power glitch. All SSR data were received. * The station 15 maser was red for the Ahead track on station 15 on day 81 (Mar 22), and the alternative receiver was used instead. The alternate receiver was also used for a Behind track later in the day. * A receiver anomaly caused the loss of 69 frames during the station 25 pass on day 82 (Mar 23). This caused the loss of about one minute of SSR data. * Commanding, realtime telemetry, and tracking data were unavailable for 73 minutes starting at 23:58 UT during the Behind pass on station 43 on day 82 (Mar 23) due to a problem with the IONet connection. * The IMPACT science buffer reached 95% full during the station 43 pass on Behind on day 84 (Mar 25). Pointers were moved at 03:12 UT. This resulted in the loss of about 24 minutes of IMPACT science data. Some PLASTIC data were also lost. * The average daily SSR downlink was 6.1 gigabits on Ahead, and 5.2 gigabits on Behind. Week 13 * There is a 70 meter track on station 43 for Behind on day 91 (Apr 1) which will be carried out at 720 kbsp. This will follow a 21 hour gap, and pointers will be moved during the pass. Double playback of insitu data will be disabled. * Behind will reach aphelion on Sunday, Apr 4 at 17:59 UT. Week 14 * The 13th SECCHI stepped calibration roll will be carried out on Behind on Apr 6 starting at 17:05 UT. The system momentum is predicted to be ~2 N-m-s. * Macros will be loaded to Ahead on Wednesday, Apr 7, to support the 240 and 120 kbps telemetry rates. These macros are already loaded on Behind. This activity will be carried out on station 43, which is a 70 meter station. Pointers will be moved during the pass. * Contingency star tracker macros will be loaded to Behind on Monday, Apr 5, and to Ahead on Wednesday, Apr 7. * G&C software version 3.2.6 will be loaded to EEPROM copy 1 on Behind on Thursday, Apr 8. This version is already loaded in copy 2, and is currently in use. * There is a 70 meter track on station 43 for Behind on day 100 (Apr 10), which will be carried out at 720 kbps. Double playback of insitu data will be disabled. Week 15 * G&C software version 3.2.6 will be loaded to EEPROM copy 1 on Ahead. * A return-to-service track on station 34 is scheduled on Ahead late Wednesday, Apr 14. There will be no SSR playback during this track. Week 16 * Switch to 7 hour DSN tracks for Ahead starting Apr 19. * The new macros for the 240 and 120 kbps telemetry rates will be tested for two hours on Ahead on Apr 19. Four hours of commanding time are available to the instruments before the test if needed. * The 29th momentum dump will be carried out on Ahead on Wednesday, Apr 21. Week 17 * Switch to 240 kbps rate for Ahead starting Apr 26. * The 23rd momentum dump will be carried out on Behind on Tuesday, Apr 27, starting at 20:30 UT. Other * APL is reviewing the possible telemetry rates during the extended mission. Initial indications are that a rate of 80 kbps can be maintained for Ahead throughout the mission. The same rate for Behind is 60 kbps. * To allow for more schedule flexibility, track time will be allowed to be split up into several tracks per day, with each track being at least 3 hours in length. * Station 15 has been declared red, but is expected to be repaired before the next STEREO pass. * SECCHI would like to plan some calibration offpoint maneuvers for HI in the near future. This would be a repeat of some offpoint maneuvers carried out earlier in the mission. Before scheduling the maneuver, the HI team would like to consider whether they would like to change some of the offpoint values. * SECCHI would also like to schedule guide telescope calibration offpoint maneuvers. These maneuvers would be performed by manipulating the SECCHI GT parameters.
