STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-12-08 (Week 50) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 49 * The track schedule for day 336 (Dec 2) was shifted 2.5 hours earlier to accommodate the NExT (Stardust) mission, which was in safe mode. This was the track for the 26th momentum dump, which was also shifted earlier in time to 15:00 UT. The momentum dump was carried out successfully. A delta-V of 0.0795 m/s was imparted. * The EEPROMs on Ahead on both IMUs 1 and 2 were successfully refreshed on day 335 (Dec 1). * The average daily downlink was 6.4 gigabits on Ahead, and 5.9 on Behind. * The station 45 transmitter was red for the Behind pass on day 337 (Dec 3). This resulted in the loss of all commanding, ranging, and Doppler data. All SSR data were recovered during the pass, but the pointers were not reset, which resulted in the subsequent loss of about 5 hours of instrument SSR data. * The station 45 transmitter was still out on day 338 (Dec 4), and station 15 was added for commanding. However, the start of the track was 14 minutes late due to a station anomaly. This resulted in the loss of a few minutes of spacecraft-only SSR data. * The station 45 pass on day 338 (Dec 4) started late at 04:39 UT because of transmitter repair. * Turbo decoder lock was lost intermittently during the station 59 pass on day 339 (Dec 5). This resulted in the loss of 186 SECCHI frames. * Tests were be made of the 240 and 120 kbps telemetry rates during the 5 hour Behind pass on station 65 on day 334 (Nov 30). * An additional 7 hour track on station 15 on day 335 (Dec 1) was also successfully used for further testing of the 240 kbps downlink rate, including downloading the SSR. At the end of the pass, the instrument partitions still contained the following amounts of data: SWAVES 22%, IMPACT 5%, PLASTIC 14%, and SECCHI 18%. The amount of data left in the partition depends on the duration between passes. Further checking is needed to see if these are the expected levels of remaining data. Week 50 * Behind switched to the 240 kbps rate today (Dec 8), starting with the pass beginning at 14:20 UT on station 55. Ahead will remain at 360 kbps until April. * Commanding will be performed during the station 15 support tomorrow (Dec 9). Week 51 * No significant activities planned. Week 52 * The 20th momentum dump will be carried out on Behind on day 356 (Dec 22) at 16:00 UT. Week 53 * A 70 meter track is scheduled on Behind on day 363 (Dec 29). This pass will be carried out at 720 kbps. Week 1 * HGA calibrations will be carried out on both spacecraft on Jan 6. The start times will be Ahead: 14:00, Behind: 16:00 UT. * The 12th SECCHI stepped calibration roll will be carried out on Behind on Jan 5, starting at 12:15 UT. Other * SECCHI reported that they're still having problems with the security certificate for the SDS server being out-of-date. It was stated that a security exception needed to be installed on the browser.
