STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-11-03 (Week 45) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * There will be a four hour test track for Ahead tomorrow (Nov 4) on station 15. SSR data will not be played back during this test. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 43 * On day 294 (Oct 21) telemetry lock was lost at 10:03 UT during the station 55 pass on Ahead due to the antenna brakes engaging. Telemetry lock was re-established by 10:17 UT. This resulted in the loss of 14 minutes of realtime telemetry and tracking, and minor SSR data loss. * Telemetry lock was 7 minutes late for the station 55 pass on Ahead on day 296 (Oct 23). A telemetry processor was added, and lock was established at 07:42. This resulted in the loss of 7 minutes of realtime telemetry and tracking. All SSR data were recovered. * SECCHI-Ahead had the 14th watchdog reset at 20:17:02 on day 296 (Oct 23), and was recovered by 10:40 UT the next day. * SECCHI-Behind had the 10th watchdog reset at 05:32 UT on day 292 (Oct 19), and was recovered by 14:51 UT. * SECCHI-Behind had another watchdog reset at 03:31 UT on day 297 (Oct 24), and was recovered by 23:30 UT. * The average daily downlink was 5.7 gigabits on Ahead, and 5.6 on Behind. Week 44 * On day 299 (Oct 26) the station 24 receiver was declared red. As the estimated recovery date wasn't until day 303 (Oct 30), and Ahead was supposed to use this station on day 302 (Oct 29), the track was switched to station 55 for 4.4 hours. All SSR data was recovered. This meant that Ahead was sharing station 55 with Behind, whose track was shortened by 0.2 hours to 4.7 hours. * On day 304 (Oct 31), telemetry lock on station 45 was lost for 14 minutes during the Ahead pass. This resulted in the loss of a few minutes of SSR data for all instruments. * On day 301 (Oct 28), the G&C parameter to detect when the GT is saturated, and reposition more quickly to Sun center was enabled. * Behind reached L5 on day 299 (Oct 26). This was also the third anniversary of the STEREO launch. Week 45 * See announcement above about a test track on Ahead. * The 19th momentum dump on Behind was carried out successfully this morning (Nov 3). * Four hour tracks are scheduled for Behind on Wednesday (Nov 4) and Saturday (Nov 8). Week 46 * The EEPROM on IMU #2 on Behind will be refreshed on Tuesday, Nov 10. This is recommended by the manufacturer every 3 years. The recommendations for the EEPROMs on the star tracker are once every 5 years. The same procedure will be carried out on IMU #1 the following Tuesday. * Short tracks are scheduled for Ahead on Friday, Nov 13, and on Behind on Nov 9, 10, and 12. Week 47 * The EEPROM on IMU #1 on Behind will be refreshed on Tuesday, Nov 17. * Short tracks are scheduled for Ahead on Monday and Tuesday, Nov 16-17, and on Behind on Wednesday, Nov 18, and twice on Friday, Nov 20. Week 48 * The 11th SECCHI stepped calibration roll will be carried out on Ahead on day 328 (Nov 24). Ahead will reach aphelion on Nov 25 at 05:38 UT. * Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov 26. Other * The MOC is working on the script changes needed for the extended mission at telemetry rates of 240 kbps and lower, based on the STEREO SOP version 2. Among other changes, the spacecraft housekeeping telemetry will be lowered. Also, the SECCHI SWx partition will not be read out, although the telemetry will still be available in realtime. Behind will go to the 240 kbps rate on Dec 7. Before then, a test track will be scheduled.
