STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-05-26 (Week 22) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Access to the STEREO MOC via the internet will be unavailable from 6:00 A.M to noon EDT (10-16 UT) on Saturday, May 30. No real-time telemetry or instrument commanding will be available through the internet. It is recommended that the instruments use the backup modem capability. If required, this should be tested in advance. INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 21 * On day 137, during the DSS 45 support, telemetry lock was lost momentarily at 0646Z. 38 SSR telemetry frames were lost resulting in minor data loss for PLASTIC and SECCHI. Telemetry lock was lost again for five minutes starting at 0804Z. 145 SSR telemetry frames were lost resulting in additional data loss for PLASTIC and SECCHI. See DR# N105282 for more information. * On day 138, during the DSS 65 support, real-time telemetry data was lost at 0643Z. All SSR data was recovered. See DR# M105353 for more information. * On day 140, the SECCHI (Ahead) instrument reset at 07:35:49Z. Later that same day, the SECCHI team reconfigured the instrument to operational mode at 2028Z. This was the 11th reset of SECCHI on the Ahead spacecraft. * On day 140, SWAVES successfully activated flight software version 4.10. * Realtime telemetry was lost early on Monday (May 18) during the Ahead pass on station 65. All data was received on the ground. * The new SWAVES flight software will be activated May 20 on both spacecraft. The Ahead pass starts around 3:00 EDT in the afternoon, and the Behind pass around noontime. * The average daily downlink was 5.8 gigabits on Ahead, and 6.6 on Behind. Week 22 * Monday is Memorial Day. * The fourth HI 180 degree rolls are scheduled for both Ahead and Behind on day 147 (May 27). The Ahead roll will start at 13:50 and the Behind roll will start at 17:50. The system momentum will be about 6 N-m-s on Ahead, and 7 N-m-s on Behind. The rolls are about 7 hours in duration. * Internet connectivity to APL will be unavailable for six hours on Saturday, May 30. See the announcement above for more details. Week 23 * On June 2, SECCHI (Ahead) will have a software update. The image processing software will be updated in order to change the way HI spaceweather images are processed. * The 16th momentum dump on Behind is scheduled for June 4th, starting at 15:00 UT. * The Ahead pass on Thursday, June 4 is shorter than usual (3 hours). Week 24 * On June 8 the station 45 track is shorter (3.6 hours). Other * No date has been set yet for the reset on Ahead. This is expected to occur sometime in August, possibly in the first week. * The LRO launch date has been moved to June 17. The impact on the STEREO DSN schedule is not yet known.
