STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-04-07 (Week 15) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * APL is gathering instrument input (estimated activities, duration, command support, etc) for the planned G&C software load. APL has an internal review for this system reset on April 15th and would like the instrument information by April 13th. * The switch back from IMU #2 to IMU #1 on Behind has been rescheduled for day 105 (Apr 15), at 16:30 UT. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spacecraft is currently operating on IMU #2. * Behind is also operating on IMU #2 for testing. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 14 * Telemetry was intermittent during the Ahead pass on station 25 on day 95 (Apr 4), from 15:01-15:14. This resulted in about 7 minutes loss of SSR data for all instruments. The cause is unknown. * PLASTIC commanded their MCP voltage on day 91 (Apr 1) for Ahead, and day 92 (Apr 2) for Behind. * The average daily downlink was 6.3 gigabits for Ahead, and 6.5 gigabits for Behind. * Telemetry was intermittent during the last 39 minutes of the Behind pass on station 34 on day 93 (Apr 3) because of heavy rain. This resulted in the loss of 27 minutes of SSR data loss for all instruments. * Uplink was established about 10 minutes late during the Behind pass on station 34 on day 95 (Apr 5) because of problems with the command generator. This resulted in the loss of about 1 minute of SECCHI data. Week 15 * The next HI 180 degree roll maneuvers are scheduled for Apr 8 on both spacecraft, starting at 03:50 for Ahead, and 07:50 for Behind. * The 9th SECCHI stepped calibration roll was carried out on Behind this morning (Apr 7) starting at 01:40 UT. All indications are that the roll went as planned. * SWAVES will be performing a software load on Behind tomorrow (Apr 8) to investigate their EEPROM anomaly. They also plan to perform a dump on Ahead tomorrow morning as practice. * An ICAL 1 is scheduled for Thursday, Apr 9, starting at 16:00. SECCHI supports this with their synoptic program. * IMPACT started using a new burst mode yesterday (Apr 8) on both spacecraft. This mode gives longer burst data from SWEA and MAG, but no burst data from STE. They plan to run in this mode for at least a month. Week 16 * The Behind spacecraft will switch back to IMU #1 on Apr 15, at 16:30 UT. It was delayed one week because of the SWAVES testing. * There will be an uplink range sweep test on Thursday, April 16. This test will make sure that DSN can acquire uplink after reset. * A SUMER campaign is scheduled for Apr 15-29. The campaign organizers need to work more closely with the SECCHI team. * IMPACT plans to put up a small software patch to remove STE-U from the telemetry. Week 17 * The 15th momentum dump is scheduled for Behind on day 112 (Apr 22) at 3 UT. The intent is to be near zero momentum on May 12. Other * The question was raised as to how long survival power will be off when the instrument is commanded into EA mode on May 12th. The answer was about one second.
