STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2009-01-27 (Week 05) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Next week's telecon is cancelled because of the SWG meeting in Pasadena. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spacecraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 04 * Telemetry lock was intermittent during the Ahead pass on station 54 on day 20 (Jan 20). A small amount of SECCHI data was lost. * The station 45 transmitter was red during the Ahead pass on day 21 (Jan 21), resulting in the loss of several hours of SECCHI data. * SWAVES-A reset at 20:36:15 on day 21 (Jan 21). This is the third SWAVES reset on Ahead. * The extended mission started on Jan 22. * SECCHI-A reset at 13:28:41 on day 23 (Jan 23), and was recovered by 08:05 on the following day. * The station 26 transmitter was red for the Behind pass on day 19 (Jan 19). An hour on station 15 was provided to get the necessary commands up. All SSR data was recovered. * Telemetry lock was intermittent due to heavy rain at station 34 during the Behind pass on day 22 (Jan 22). Some SSR data was lost. * The 13th momentum dump was carried out on Behind on day 21 (Jan 21), with ignition at 19:00 UT. A delta-V or 0.0715 m/s was imparted. * The average daily downlink was 6.3 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.4 gigabits on Behind. Week 05 * PLASTIC commanding is occuring on Ahead today (Jan 27), and on Behind tomorrow (Jan 28). There is an expectation of bad weather tomorrow, but the necessary commands are entered into the schedule to allow the PLASTIC commanding to proceed. Week 06 * A momentum dump is scheduled for Ahead on February 4, with ignition at 14:00 UT. Week 07 * An unnumbered JOP (High Cadence Study of Quiet Sun Supergranular EUV Brightenings) is scheduled for Feb 12-15, with SECCHI participation. Other * DAWN will fly by Mars on Feb 17. * There will be an operations telecon scheduled sometime after the SWG to discuss various issues regarding operations during the extended mission. Several upcoming events are being planned - A G&C autonomy load is planned to accommodate the possible loss of the star tracker. This will require shutting the instruments off to restart G&C. - There is a plan to switch to IMU 2 for 2-4 weeks on Behind to collect information about the characteristics. This should be transparent to the instruments. - Operations would like to conduct a GT saturation test. * The SECCHI team raised the question of resetting SSR pointers midway into the pass. They're concerned about possibily filling the buffer if the passes are 8 hours long, and the pointers aren't reset until the end of the pass.
