STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-10-14 (Week 42) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * There is a potential network outage at APL on Saturday, November 15 between 15:30-20:30 UT. This is between STEREO tracks. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spacecraft is currently operating on IMU #2. * Both Ahead and Behind are now operating at 480 kbps. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 41 * The station 25 antenna stopped tracking at 14:17 during the Ahead pass on day 283 (Oct 9), 23 minutes before the end of track. This led to some data loss for all instruments. * The start of the Ahead track on station 26 was delayed by 31 minutes on day 284 (Oct 10) because of late power restoration. This led to some data loss. * A number of telemetry frames were lost during the Ahead pass on station 15 on day 286 (Oct 12). * The daily average SSR playback was 7.2 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.0 gigabits on Behind. * The MOC was informed late on day 283 (Oct 9) that a Behind pass on day 284 (Oct 10) had to be deleted because of some urgent electrical maintenance which had to be performed at Goldstone. A shorter 3.3 hour replacement track starting at 20:45 UT was scheduled. However, because the track was shorter, and the time between trackers longer than originally planned, this resulted in the SECCHI synoptic partition becoming full at 21:55 UT on day 285 (Oct 11). * IMPACT performed some realtime commanding for the SEPT on Behind on day 280 (Oct 6). * Several seconds of frames were dropped during the Behind pass on station 45 around 12:12 UT on day 286 (Oct 12). This affected some PLASTIC and SECCHI data. Week 42 * Ahead switched to 480 kbps on Oct 13 at 17:30 UT. No issues have been reported. * Station 55 was unable to perform range calibration during the Behind track on Monday, day 287 (Oct 13), starting at 15:00 UT. * This morning the station 43 transmitter failed during the Behind track at 10:59 UT. The remainder of the pass was finished without the transmitter to avoid losing data during the frequency sweep. Two hours of tracking data was lost. * IMPACT will be performing realtime commanding for SWEA and STE on Behind tomorrow (Oct 15), starting around 15:00 UT on station 55. Week 43 * PLASTIC will be testing their POC equipment at APL on Wednesday, day 296 (Oct 22) on Behind, starting at 16:50 UT, and Thursday morning (Oct 23) on Ahead, starting at 11:00 UT. Week 44 * The 17th momentum dump will be performed on Ahead on Oct 30. * The U.S. will switch to standard time on November 2. Other * The Chandrayaan-1 mission is planned for launch on Oct 23 at 00:51 UT. This is an Indian satellite for studying the Moon. So far, the only impact on the STEREO DSN schedules has been a 15 minute shift of the Behind track on day 298 (Oct 24).
