STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-06-10 (Week 24) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 23 * On day 156 (Jun 4), C&DH macros were uploaded to EEPROM and RAM on both spacecraft to adjust the LGA rates for the spacecraft ranges. Also, G&C parameters were uploaded to both spacecraft in case of star tracker loss. IMU drift terms were updated on the Behind spacecraft. * On day 154 (Jun 2), SEPT-E was recovered from a latch-up condition that occured on day 147 (May 26). * The average daily downlink was 7.3 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.6 on Behind. Week 24 * No unusual activities planned. Week 25 * There will be a momentum dump on Ahead on day 170 (Jun 18) at 14:30 UT. Week 26 * A SECCHI stepped calibration roll is scheduled for Ahead on day 178 (Jun 26) at 08:55. This is the perihelion roll. Perihelion is actually late on the following day. The G&C team is working on tweaking the scripts used for the roll to maintain better pointing. * The SECCHI requested that the previous Behind stepped calibration roll be rescheduled. It is now scheduled for day 177 (Jun 25) at 14:20 UT. Week 27 * No unusual activities planned. Week 28 * HGA calibrations are scheduled on both spacecraft on day 191 (Jul 9), at 14:00 UT for Ahead, and 17:00 UT for Behind. HGA roll scripts in case of star tracker loss will also be tested. These scripts will roll the spacecraft by +/- 0.5 and 1.0 degrees. Other * The next momentum dump on Behind is expected to occur sometime around day 198 (Jul 16). * The SECCHI team wishes to carry out a GT-driven off-point maneuver for EUVI flat-fielding on both spacecraft. These tests were done before on two of the EUVI wavelengths. The SECCHI team would like to repeat this procedure for the other two wavelengths, and then on a separate occasion repeat the first two wavelengths to see if anything has changed. The test involves 5 offpoints arranged in a cross. The total amount of offpoint would be on the order of two arc minutes. If possible, SECCHI would like to run the offpoints at the same time to minimize the science impact. However, APL would prefer to run the offpoints at separate times in case of problems. * A solar eclipse will occur on August 1. The eclipse track will start in Canada at 9:20 UT, cross over Greenland, the Artic, Russia, and concluding in China at 11:20 UT. Detailed information about the eclipse can be found at http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEmono/TSE2008/TSE2008.html The SECCHI team has been contacted about supporting the eclipse. The tentative plan is to run the normal synoptic program, and move the regular 4 hours of extra observations in SSR2 to the time of the eclipse.
