STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-06-03 (Week 23) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * There is a planned power outage at APL on Saturday, June 7th, starting at 09:00 UT and ending at 04:00 UT the next day. Internet access will be unavailable between 12:00 to 13:30 UT. Outside of that 1.5 hour period, this outage shouldn't affect the MOC, and remote commanding is expected to be available. However, instrument teams may wish to send commands before the weekend to be safe. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 21 * The transmitter was unavailable during the station 45 track on day 140 (May 19) on Ahead. The data were downlinked, but no SSR space was freed. This resulted in a 2 hour SECCHI data gap the next day. Other instruments were also possibly affected. * It was discovered that the final .fin versions of the level-0 telemetry files were missing for Jan 4. The missing files were regenerated. The cause is under investigation. * IMPACT uploaded new SWEA software to Ahead on day 142 (May 21). * The transmitter went red before the station 45 track on Behind on day 143 (May 22). The data were downlinked, but no SSR space was freed. This resulted in a 4 hour gap in SECCHI data. * On day 146 (May 25) on the Behind spacecraft, the PLASTIC partition filled creating a 10 hour gap. SWAVES filled as well, and SECCHI had a 5 hour gap. These were caused by a shortened track from 4 to 3 hours to support the Phoenix mission, leading to the 1st double playback not finishing. * A SECCHI stepped calibration roll was performed on Behind on day 141 (May 20). At 12:15 the GT rate was disabled. The SECCHI team reports that 3 of the roll positions were off-pointed. The G&C team has made some recommendations for tuning up the script to avoid these problems. A possible date for redoing the calibration roll is June 25 at 14:20. The SECCHI team is considering whether they want to go ahead with redoing the roll. * The average daily downlink was 8.0 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.4 gigabits on Behind. Week 22 * On day 147 (May 26), the station 24 transmitter went red before the Behind pass. The pass was switched to station 25, and continued normally. All data were received. * On day 148 (May 27) on Behind, the IMPACT SEPT-E latched up. The IMPACT team commanded it back to normal yesterday (Jun 2). * The average daily downlink was 7.4 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.7 gigabits on Behind. Week 23 * More G&C parameter adjustments will be uploaded to both spacecraft tomorrow (Jun 4) in case of GT loss. * Mission Ops will upload macros to account for the spacecraft range in case of a switch to the LGA. This must be done periodically. * There is a planned power outage at APL on Saturday, June 7th. See the announcement above for details. Week 24 * Nothing unusual planned. Week 25 * A momentum dump will be performed on Ahead on day 170 (Jun 18) at 14:30 UT. Week 26 * A SECCHI stepped calibration roll will be performed on on Ahead on day 178 (Jun 26) at 08:55. This is the perihelion roll. Other * The SECCHI team has been contacted about supporting the solar eclipse on August 1st.
