STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2008-03-18 (Week 12) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Maintenance work will be done at APL on Saturday, March 29, from 10-16 UT. Interruptions are expected in the command interface. Instrument teams should send any commands in advance. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 11 * Station 43 has been taken down for 2 weeks. This has required a number of changes in the DSN schedule. The Ahead track on day 71 (Mar 11) was switched to station 26. A Behind track on day 74 (Mar 14) was deleted. * On day 71 (Mar 11), during the station 26 track on Ahead, a JPL router switch tripped offline, causing a 25 minute loss of realtime telemetry and commanding. * On day 73 (Mar 13), ranging lock was lost during the Ahead pass on station 34 because of an equipment problem. This resulted in a loss of 21 minutes of ranging data. * On day 71 (Mar 11), during the station 34 pass on Behind, the antenna brakes were set when the station was switched to commercial power. The brakes were reset within 1 minute. Some SECCHI data from the previous day was lost. * The average daily downlink was 6.9 gigabits on Ahead, and 7.8 gigabits on Behind. Week 12 * Some additional track schedule changes have been made because of the station 43 downtime. Two extra tracks on Behind were deleted. Tracks on Ahead have been accommodated by swapping stations. * The 8th momentum dump on Behind is being carried out today (Mar 18) at 21:25. * The next Canberra pass on Behind will be on Monday, which will be 8 days after the previous pass. * SECCHI had a ground scheduling problem which resulted in two hours of observing being missed yesterday (Mar 17), and another two hours of corrupted images. Week 13 * The 12th momentum dump on Ahead is scheduled for Tuesday, Mar 25, at 16:30 UT. * A SWAVES software load for both spacecraft is coming up, and may be scheduled for this week if ready. Opportunities exist Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Week 14 * A SECCHI stepped calibration on Ahead is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at 10:35 UT. * Opportunities for a SWAVES load exist on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Good times also exist for the following week. * High gain antenna calibrations will be carried out on both spacecraft on April 2, at 15:00 for Ahead, and 20:00 for Behind. Tracks have been extended for this activity. A power assessment will be delivered by the FDF. * A fault protection mode will be written to EEPROM on both spacecraft on Thursday, April 3. Week 15 * No unusual activities. Other * Expect station 34 to be back online on day 86 (Mar 26). * The Whole Heliospheric Interval starts Thursday, March 20. There is now a planning calendar available on the WHI website at http://ihy2007.org/WHI/.
