STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-10-02 (Week 40) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Dawn launched on Thursday, September 27th, day 270 INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 39 * On day 268 (Sep 25), SWAVES was unable to receive realtime telemetry at their APL workstation. IMPACT is having the same problem today. This turns out to be a firewall issue at APL where computers within the DMZ need to be reregistered to receive realtime telemetry after a router change in late August. Workstations outside of APL are unaffected. * On day 271 (Sep 28), PLASTIC was unable to dial into the voice circuits. This problem was due to a change from analog to VOIP, and has been fixed. * Because of changes to the schedule due to the Dawn launch, on day 272 the gap between DSN passes reached 32 hours, and the SWAVES science partition was reported as 100% full. No data were lost because of the double playback of SWAVES telemetry. * The average daily downlink was 6.5 gigabits on Ahead and 6.7 gigabits on Behind. * PLASTIC loaded the first 3 parts of the table update to Ahead on days 267,268, and 271 (Sep 24,25,28). The final part will be uploaded Thursday, Oct 4th. * Momentum dumps were performed successfully on both spacecraft on Sep 25 (day 268). * SWAVES uploaded software load 388 to both spacecraft on day 269 (Sep 26), and rebooted both the following day. * The Behind track on day 270 (Sep 27) was switched from station 63 to station 55 due to problems at the original station. Not all data were played back because of the shortened pass. * SECCHI-Behind had a watchdog reset problem on day 273 (Sep 30) at 12:11:38, and was recovered on the following day. Week 40 * SECCHI-Ahead switched to software version 5.05 on Ahead yesterday (Oct 1). * IMPACT-Ahead began a SEPT calibration sequence this morning (Oct 2) which will run for 48 hours and conclude on Thursday (Oct 4). * HGA calibrations will be performed on Thursday (Oct 4) at 14:00 UT on Ahead and 16:00 UT on Behind. * The final part of the PLASTIC-Ahead table load will be uploaded on Thursday (Oct 4). * The PLASTIC-Behind table load started yesterday (Oct 1), and will continue today and tomorrow. The first part went quickly, with about half the table loaded on the 1st day, because command checking was turned off. The PLASTIC team is able to verify their table loads independently, and can reload any missing packets. * SECCHI will enable software load 5.05 on Behind on Thursday (Oct 4). * SECCHI will write the software change to version 5.05 to EEPROM on Ahead tomorrow (Oct 3). They request to send a few commands near the end of the track. Week 41 * The IMPACT SEPT calibration will be performed on Behind from 282-284. Week 42 * Nothing unusual Week 43 * First anniversary of STEREO launch Oct 25th. Other * SWAVES requests a roll maneuver to study the possible relationship between the pulses they have been seeing and dust. They request a roll to 90 degrees for several hours, and then to 270 degrees for another several hours. This is similar to the calibration rolls performed earlier for HI. * A presentation was distributed about the upcoming Leonid encounter. Ahead is expected to travel through some of the older Leonid dust trails. Options discussed were closing the SECCHI SCIP doors and disabling the PLASTIC entrance system.
