STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-09-25 (Week 39) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Dawn launch has slipped to Thursday morning. This caused the Friday Ahead track to be moved to very early in the morning. The gap between the Friday and Saturday passes is now 32 hours, and some data is expected to be left on the recorder until Sunday. If DAWN launches ontime on Thursday, then there will be no more changes to the STEREO schedule, but additional slips may have some minor impacts. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal, except that the Ahead spececraft is currently operating on IMU #2. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 38 * Monday, day 260 (Sep 17), station 15 had an uplink equipment problem during the Ahead track. Data gaps occured between 10:41 and 10:57. * On Tuesday, day 261 (Sep 18), station 34 had a problem with its motor, associated with the Ahead track. SSR playback was unaffected. * On Friday, day 264 (Sep 21), station 34 had a problem during the Behind track where no ranging data was collected, because the DSN transmitter calibration was failing. The ranging data is recoverable with post-pass processing. * The average daily downlink was 6.7 gigabits on Ahead and 6.8 gigabits on Behind. * The SECCHI team commented that the SSR2 playback has not been as complete recently as it used to be. SSR2 playback is not required to be complete each day, but up until recently it typically has been. Week 39 * Yesterday (Sep 24), the PLASTIC team started uploading a lengthy table load. This load continues today, and on Friday (Sep 28). * The momentum dump on Ahead was accomplished successfully this morning. The momentum dump on Behind will occur later this afternoon. * SWAVES will be doing a software load Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on Ahead this week. Week 40 * HGA calibrations will be performed on both spacecraft on Wednesday, Oct 3, at 14:00 UT for Ahead, and 16:00 UT for Behind. * PLASTIC will redo their table load on Behind on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Oct 1-3. * IMPACT has requested the scheduling of a SEPT calibration sequence. Each calibration sequence consists of 2 parts, separated by 48 hours. The total amount of commanding is small. Suggested dates are Oct 2 & 4 for Ahead, and Oct 9 & 11 for Behind; however, these dates have not been finalized. * SECCHI has software load 5.05 ready to be activated on both spacecraft which they would like to schedule. The load is already on board; they only need to send a few commands to activate it. GT data will be affected--the MOC will need to disable GT rates beforehand. APL suggested scheduling this for next Monday, Oct 1st. Weeks 41,42 * Ahead tracks will be very early in the morning. Other * Information about the upcoming Leonid meteor shower will be distributed to the instrument teams by the end of the week.
