STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-03-29 (Week 13) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * A PowerPoint presentation on the upcoming unattended track operations is available on the STEREO Data Server in the teams/moc directory. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 12 * On day 84 for the Ahead spacecraft, station 26 had a transmission problem, delaying commanding for about 2 hours. This led to a 1.5 minute gap in the SSR playback. * Average telemetry recovery rate was 7.3 Gbits for Ahead, and 9.4 Gbits for Behind. * Unusual levels of jitter were seen on the Ahead spacecraft on days 83 and 84. Week 13 * SECCHI repartioning on both spacecraft was performed on Monday, Mar 26. * Changes to the IMPACT temperarture limits autonomy rule were uploaded on Tuesday, Mar 27. * IMPACT LET firmware load today on both spacecraft. * A power failure at Goldstone during an unattended pass caused data loss on the Behind spacecraft. * Ephemeris update on Behind at the day 89/90 rollover. Week 14 * HGA calibration on both spacecraft on Tuesday, April 3. * Momentum dump on Behind on April 5. Will remain on HGA during the dump. This dump is a little early, and will put the wheels into a good configuration for the upcoming SECCHI roll. Week 15 * Momentum dump on Ahead, April 12. Week 16 * SECCHI stepped calibration roll on April 17. * SECCHI GT off-points on both spacecraft, April 19. Week 17 * Nothing unusual Week 18 * Begin unattended tracks April 30 * Start of SECCHI campaign, Friday, May 4. Other * DSN schedules are available up through May 27. SECCHI will start taking advantage of the extra tracks. * The SECCHI team discussed the packet gaps they've been seeing in their special event buffer telemetry. Many data gaps are seen in the beginning of the track, while no gaps are seen later in the track. One possibility that was discussed was that this effect could be caused by data being written to the buffer while it's being read, overwriting older telemetry. * The unattended track concept of operations was discussed. A PowerPoint presentation is available on the SDS website, in the teams/moc directory. - The MOC expects to have an attended track roughly once a week for operations such as time updates. These tracks will be clearly marked in the DSN and weekly schedules. Instrument teams can use these tracks for their own realtime commanding. - The question of how the instrument teams can call the MOC was discussed. The MOC will put the schedule of who's on duty on the SDS, and will look into the possibility of having a single contact number. - Instrument teams are encouraged to start using Instrument Event Schedule files to request operations such as realtime commanding. APL will put sample IES files on the STEREO Data Server.
