STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-02-27 (Week 09) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 8 * Activities for Ahead included a SECCHI stepped calibration roll (Feb. 20) and SECCHI-driven EUVI flat field off-point (Feb. 21). * On Feb. 20 communications on both spacecraft were switched to normal mode of right hand polarization on both spacecraft. * There was a successful momentum dump for Behind (its first) on Feb. 22. * On Feb. 21 there was a short (2min 15 sec) telemetry drop out which probably resulted in some data loss. The cause is not determined. * On Feb. 25 the lunar transit as seen from the Behind spacecraft went well. The transit was observed with EUVI, Cor1, Cor2 and probably HI1 Week 9 * On Thursday, Mar. 1 at 00:00 UT a daylight savings time patch will be installed on the MOC Workstation. At that time the workstation will need to be rebooted. This should only take a few minutes, but please don't try to command or access the STEREO data server at this time. * The Ahead HGA calibration roll on Wednesday, Feb. 28 starts at the beginning of special 6 hour pass at 13:55 UT. * Ahead momentum dump (its 3rd) starts at 19:30 UT on Thursday, Mar. 1. Thrusters fire about 1 min. Will stay on HGA. * A C&DH software patch will be installed on Ahead on Feb. 27 and on Behind Wednesday, Feb. 28. Week 10 * On Monday, Mar. 5 at 23:00 UT the daylight saving patch will be installed on the spacecraft telemetry servers. Again, the servers should only be down a few minutes, but don't try to send any commands at this time. * Daylight saving time switch on Sunday, Mar. 11. Week 11: * HGA Calibration on Behind on Monday March 12. There will be an 8 hour track, with the pointers reset at the end of the track. * SECCHI HI coincident 90/270 degree rolls for both spacecraft at 10:00 UT on Thursday, March 13. At the beginning of the event the Ahead spacecraft will be rolled to the same roll angle as Behind. * SECCHI HI 180 degree rolls for Ahead and Behind set for Thursday March 15 at 15:40 UT. As with the March 13 roll, at the beginning of the roll Ahead will be rolled to the same roll angle as Behind. Other: * There will be momentum dumps for Ahead on April 12 and Behind on April 15. * The S/WAVES team wants to bring to the attention a series of impulse discharges they have been observing with S/WAVES on the Ahead spacecraft. If these are not internal to the S/WAVES instrument or due to a solar wind phenomenon, then they might be due to an external electrostatic discharge in the spacecraft. These suddenly started on Jan. 28, with peaks around Feb. 2-3, 12, and 16. They diminished a lot by Feb. 18, but might still be occurring. It is possible this may be occurring on behind too, but if so it is much lower in intensity. Keith requests that people consider what might be causing this. He will send out a graph showing the phenomenon. * The SECCHI team will be at their working group meeting next week and so probably won't make it to the telecon.
