STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-02-13 (Week 07) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * APL network will down for maintenance on Saturday, Feb 17th, between 12:00 to 22:00. Instruments will not be able to command from their POCs or receive realtime telemetry. No APL email. STEREO data server will be down. The backup modem pool will not work. * The version numbering of the final Level-0 telemetry ".fin" files is being changed to increment starting from the highest version of the previous ".ptp" file. One should normally expect to see five versions of each telemetry file, for today (00), yesterday (01), two days ago (02), three days ago (03), and the final .fin file (04). * SECCHI real-time beacon images are now being produced and distributed online from the STEREO Science Center at http://stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov/beacon/beacon_secchi.shtml INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 6 * Several ground system anomalies have been encountered from DSN station 45 over the last two weeks. On Feb 8 the station was used in normal polarization rather than reverse polarization without any problems. Future tracks from this groundstation will use normal polarization. * On Feb 6 from station 45, intermittent telemetry was recieved from the Ahead spacecraft. * Spacecraft-driven SECCHI EUVI flat field off-point on Behind, Feb 5. Last part of event macro got overwritten due to commanding error. Did not affect the data, only the HGA autotrack feature. This was corrected during the following pass. * SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind, Feb 6. Week 7 * SECCHI-driven EUVI flat-field calibration off-point on Ahead, Feb 13. * Spacecraft-driven EUVI flat-field calibration off-point on Ahead, Feb 15. * A time update of about 100 milliseconds increase will be commanded for both spacecraft. * Instrument teams can submit stored commands ahead of time to go up on Feb 17. * SECCHI is practicing their lunar transit sequence on Behind on Feb 14, starting at 15:25 UT. This will involve off-pointing from nominal Sun pointing by about 3 arc minutes for approximately four hours. * There will be no attended track on Sunday for Behind. There will be 6 unattended tracks on Behind. All tracks from now on will be 4 hours long, except when performing special operations such as HGA calibrations. Week 8 * One unattended track on Ahead on Feb 23, day 54. Four unattended tracks on Behind during the week. * SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Ahead, Feb 20. * Reverse polarization will be discontinued on Ahead on Feb 20. * Lunar transit as seen from Behind, Feb 25, 06:56-18:52 UT. * Momentum dump expected for the Behind spacecraft either end of week 8 or early week 9. May be delayed until after lunar transit. Momentum on Ahead is not building up as fast. Next momentum dump for Ahead probably in week 9. Week 9 * HGA calibration on Ahead, Feb 28. This will be a six hour track. * Six unattended tracks on Behind. Week 10 * Switch to Daily Savings Time occurs March 4, which is three weeks earlier than in previous years. Week 11 * Discontinue reverse polarization on Behind on March 6. * Track schedule not yet finalized. * March 13, SECCHI HI coincident 90/270 degree rolls. The Behind spacecraft will need some adjustments to the roll angle for this maneuver, so that both spacecraft are viewing the same area in space. NRL will supply APL with the necessary roll angles, which will be double-checked by Mission Design. * March 15, SECCHI HI 180 degree rolls. Again, NRL needs to supply the adjustment for the Behind roll angle, so that both spacecraft are viewing the same area. Week 12 * Unattended tracks on both spacecraft. Other * It was discussed that Fridays should be maintained as a quiet day, particularly when starting to use unattended tracks over the weekend. * The SECCHI campaign May 4-17 was discussed. This campaign will bring down extra telemetry, but not for the other instruments. The track schedule is being negotiated with DSN. Tracks are being arranged to be as close to 12 hours apart as possible. The question was raised whether SECCHI would need to practice for this campaign--this hasn't been finalized yet. * Mission Operations is examining SECCHI's request for reallocating their partitions. * Mission Operations will switch over to using unattended tracks with commanding in May. Instrument teams are encouraged to send their commands in advance so that they can go up during unattended tracks.
