STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-01-30 (Week 05) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * APL router maintenance 17-20:00 UT, during simultaneous tracks, effects IO net, realtime commanding not recommended until after 20:00 UT. * APL network will down for maintenance on Saturday, Feb 17th, between 12:00 to 22:00. Instruments will not be able to command from their POCs or receive realtime telemetry. No APL email. STEREO data server will be down. The backup modem pool will not work. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 4 (doy 22-28) *** Ground system anomalies for *** (Ahead) * Jan 24, station DSS-34 dropped command and telemetry for 10 minutes beginning at 2318Z due to an antenna failure. * Jan 26, station DSS-25 began the track with a transmitter problem. The transmitter remained red until 1615Z, approximately 69 minutes after BOT. All track objectives were achieved. (Behind) * Jan 24, the SSR playback had already started prior to BOT. The SSR pointers were moved back and the playback was re-started after BOT to recover all the SSR data. This problem is due to an error in scheduling software which did not change the time of events that occur a set time after BOT when the track time changed. A fix for this problem has now been approved and implemented. * On day 025 during the track with DSS-26, there were several real-time telemetry dropouts. These dropouts were traced to the GSFC routers at APL being upgraded at this time to fix security vulnerabilities. * Jan 22, the (Behind) spacecraft was placed into Operational Mode and the High Gain Antenna was placed into Auto Track. (HGA will move 110 degrees over next 23 days, with a step around every 7 minutes. Ten steps = 1/10th of a degree. SECCHI will look at their data to look for any effects.) * Jan 22, the G&C wheel speed avoidance was enabled to avoid a wheel speed of 0 rpm, for (Ahead and Behind). * Jan 23 on (Ahead) and Jan 24 on (Behind), the G&C control bandwidth was tightened. The G&C parameters were tuned to reduce jitter. All indications are that jitter has been reduced with this change. * Jan 25 (Ahead) and Jan 26 (Behind) G&C was configured to use Guide Telescope rates. * Jan 25 (Ahead) there was a watchdog reset on the SECCHI instrument at 04:37Z. This caused SECCHI to re-boot into maintenance mode. At approximately 19:30Z on Jan 25, SECCHI was transitioned back to operations mode. * Jan 25 a SECCHI HI stray light off-point event on Behind was completed. * Jan 27 (Ahead and Behind) G&C was configured to not use Guide telescope rates. GT rate use was disabled due to unusual operation when SECCHI (on Ahead) re-booted into maintenance mode on Jan 25. Week 5 (doy 29-35) * SECCHI HI stray-light offpoint on Ahead, Jan 30 at 16:00 UT. * Ahead is competing with other missions for antenna time, but Behind is currently mostly alone in its part of the sky. Thus, there are many unattended tracks. The MOC will start doing SSR playbacks during the unattended playbacks, as per SECCHI request. There is some risk of losing data during the unattended passes. Passes for critical observations will be attended. * SWAVES second calibration roll on Behind on Jan 29 at 05:10 UT, and third roll on Jan 31 at 04:50 UT. Each roll is 10 hours long. Space weather beacon will only be visible during half of the roll. * Behind switches to HGA on Jan 31st. DSN will be operated reverse polarized, with 20 kW transmit power * Will have a 70 meter dish (#43) on Behind on Friday, Feb 2. * APL router maintenance Feb 1. See announcement above for details. * GT off-point, Ahead 13:00 UT and Behind 18:15 UT, Saturday, Feb 3. * SECCHI-driven EUVI off-point on Behind, Sunday Feb 4 at 10:40 UT. Week 6 (doy 36-42) * Spacecraft-driven EUVI off-point on Behind, Feb 5 at 06:00 UT. * SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind, Feb 6 at 06:50 UT. SECCHI needs to finalized boresight before the calibration roll, and may delay this maneuver. * ~4 hr track everyday for Ahead * 3 unattended tracks for Behind. Will have SSR playback. Week 7 (doy 43-49) * 7 unattended tracks for Behind * APL network will be down Feb 17th. See announcement above for details.
