STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2007-01-23 (Week 04) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * APL network will down for maintenance on Saturday, Feb 17th, between 12:00 to 22:00. Instruments will not be able to command from their POCs or receive realtime telemetry. The backup modem pool will not work. * Version 05 of SPICE clock kernels were put on STEREO Data Server. These kernels have been used within MOC for some time, but were accidently omitted from SDS. New clock kernels have also been implemented within SolarSoft. * MOC plans to disable ground receipt time indexing on telemetry playback server. Instrument teams should contact MOC and/or SSC if this causes a problem. INSTRUMENT AND SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * All subsystems on both spacecraft are nominal. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 3 * Jan 15 had scheduling problem on Ahead where time tag commands were off by 15 minutes. The time offsets were adjusted in realtime and all objectives were met. * Jan 7 had power problem on DSN 26 with 5 minute telemetry outage on Ahead. * Ahead momentum dump performed on Jan 18. Predict that next dump will be around Feb 29 on Ahead, and a week earlier on Behind. * Went to operational mode on Ahead on Jan 18. * On Jan 17 the station 14 transmitter was down for entire track. Also had about 10 minutes of telemetry outages during the SSR playback. * On Jan 19 acquisition was 13 minutes on Behind. However, all data was recovered. * Opened IMPACT SIT/SEPT doors on Behind on Jan 16. * Behind had second and final lunar swingby on Jan 21. Week 4 * G&C parameters are being tuned up on both spacecraft to reduce jitter. Enabling wheel speed avoidance, tightening up feedback loop parameters, and enabling GT rate usage. * Behind on LGA until Jan 31st. Currently at 720 kbps. * Behind promoted to operational mode Jan 22. HGA auto-tracking is enabled. HGA will move 110 degrees over next 23 days, with a step around every 7 minutes. Ten steps = 1/10th of a degree. SECCHI will look at their data to look for any effects. * Last night had Behind coverage from Canberra, who won't see Behind again until Feb 4th. * Some tracks unattended. Usually not playing back SSR in unattended tracks. * SECCHI HI stray-light offpoint maneuver on Behind Thursday 21:15 UT. Week 5 * SECCHI HI stray-light offpoint on Ahead, Jan 30 at 16:00 UT. * Ahead is competing with other missions for antenna time, but Behind is currently mostly alone in its part of the sky. Thus, there are many unattended tracks. The MOC will start doing SSR playbacks during the unattended playbacks, as per SECCHI request. There is some risk of losing data during the unattended passes. Passes for critical observations will be attended. * SWAVES calibration rolls on Behind on Jan 29 at 05:10 UT, and on Jan 31 at 04:50 UT. Each roll is 10 hours long. Space weather beacon will only be visible during half of the roll. * Weekly schedules not out yet for week 5. DSN schedules are settling down. By Friday should have weekly schedules for next two weeks on server. * Behind switches to HGA on Jan 31st. DSN will be operated reverse polarized, with 20 kW transmit power * Will have a 70 meter dish (#43) on Behind on Friday, Feb 2. * SECCHI-driven EUVI off-point on Behind, Sunday Feb 4 at 10:40 UT. * Spacecraft-driven EUVI off-point on Behind, Feb 5 at 06:00 UT. * SECCHI stepped calibration roll on Behind, Feb 6 at 06:50 UT. SECCHI needs to finalized boresight before the calibration roll, and may delay this maneuver. * Many unattended tracks for Behind. Will have SSR playback. Week 7 * APL network will be down Feb 17th. See announcement above for details.
