STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2006-10-17 (Week 42) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Weekly Schedule for 1st week available for Ahead and Behind. * Reminder: Daylight savings time ends October 29th. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- SSC: A problem developed Monday, Oct 16 with the ingest of data from the STEREO Data Server into the STEREO Science Center. The problem was traced to anomalously low transfer speeds, about 30x slower than normal. The hourly mirror jobs were not finishing before the next job started, and we ended up with multiple jobs running simultaneously, further slowing down the transfer rate of each job. The solution was to put in a test to not start a new transfer unless the old transfer had finished, and to send a notification if this occurs. The anomalously slow internet transfers appear to have been a transitory phenomenon--the transfer rates are now back up to normal. OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ---------------------- * Ran launch test Saturday -- went well. * Powering down for P1 still an open issue. * 6 hour gap in coverage around P1 perigee. P1 prime maneuver over Canberra. Backup maneuver (not in schedule) over Goldstone. Maneuver will be required. * EA mode test after P1 on Ahead. Turns off instruments. Will take 6-7 hour to recover. * SECCHI recent comments incorporated in Early Ops Schedule. Additional comments: - Day 35-37, telemetry rate should be N/A. - Day 38,39, EUVI test should be in contact * Most recent Early Ops Schedule on SDS under teams/moc. Also there are the DSN Track Coverage Calendar and Launch Separation Timing documents. * Don't know yet if A2 maneuver is required. * First GT enabling scheduled after A2, during a period of when there's a lot of DSN coverage. * DSN schedules available for weeks 43 & 44. Have schedules "on the shelf" for launches covering the next few days after the nominal Oct 25 (EDT) launch date. These do not appear on the SDS. * Report on who's commissioning from where: - IMPACT commissioning from California, but will have presence at APL - PLASTIC commanding from APL, monitoring from NH - SECCHI commissioning from APL - SWAVES at APL for first week, then ramping down. - SSC somebody each day for daily meeting for first few weeks * Operational requests: - IMPACT MAG roll tested - SECCHI COR stepped roll tested - SWAVES roll tested - EUVI offpoint still in progress * Smaller slew of HGA before MAG roll not yet in schedule. * Note that track plan doesn't indicate which stations that SOA/EOA refer to. Confusing for overlapping tracks, but only a concern for 1st week. Usually serialize tracks between Ahead and Behind on same station. * Time of post-launch daily status meetings not determined yet, possibly 2:30.
