Problem Description: HET Flight Electronics Assembly: During removal of a tempory commercial Actel (U200) several pads (29) were lifted. A flight part was initialy installed and removed, followed by inspection of the pads prior to installation of the commecial part. The commercial part was being removed so that a new flight part could be installed. All of the pads listed below are lifted at the heel end of the pad for approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of the pads length. The apparent cause was the use of scissors on leads that were still soldered to the pads. As the scissor snipped the leads the pads lifted and rotated away from the tool. Pad position numbers followed by a "t", (7) are for pads that have traces attached to the lifted areas: 4t, 5, 8, 9, 13, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28t, 30, 31, 34, 37t, 40t, 42t, 67, 142, 161, 167, 171, 174, 179, 182, 187t, 193, 195, 197 and 199.
Problem Addendum 1 (by Larry
Gibb on 04/05/2004 14:17): Only 6 pads have lifted traces, not 7. Problem
Addendum 2 (by Larry Gibb on 04/06/2004 13:13):Add pad position number 63 to the list of lifted pads raising the
total number of lifts to 30.
